Mi-Distributor- a Weightless Textbook Initiative for the Education Industry, now available on your Smart Devices!
Manipal Digital, a leading Pre-Media service provider for eBook Technologies announced the availability of Mi-Distributor, an eBook platform for the education market. The idea was to replace the hardbound textbooks that students carry along with weightless versions in the form of e-textbooks.
Mi-Distributor is an end-to-end solution for managing and distributing e-Textbook to the students. It provides a powerful platform that enables schools/universities to bring interactive content into the hands of students. It also includes a real time analytic feature. So while the students can carry their entire textbook shelf in their handheld device, the faculties also get a real time update on how much of a textbook have the students actually read.
Mi-Distributor’s e-Reader includes features such as Highlighting, Notes, Annotations, and Dictionary along with other multimedia features; including built-in browser viewing on all major browsers on laptops, desktops, tablets and Smart Phones, and it is made available for iOS, Android and Windows platforms.
“Manipal Digital, a wholly owned subsidiary of the print giant Manipal Technologies Ltd., is dedicated to digital transformation of businesses and institutions. The ability of adding Interactivity to the learning content for the students is something really interesting and we have seen high demands for such technologies in the education sectors. When we developed Mi-Distributor, we wanted to create not just a textbook distribution platform but also a space for interactive learning for the students” stated Santhosh Shanbhag, Operations Head, Manipal Digital.
This one-of-a-kind platform has been successfully implemented in Manipal University, one of the India’s most reputed Universities with over 700 students of MBBS and MBS courses using the platform and is also in talks with other higher education institutes on using this platform to create collaborative learning spaces.
